Riverdale Sandlot is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all players and spectators. Our league is built on a foundation of respect, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. To ensure everyone feels comfortable and valued, we have established the following Code of Conduct.
All participants in Riverdale Sandlot are expected to:
Treat others with respect: This includes teammates, opponents, spectators and anyone else in the park.
Exhibit good sportsmanship: Play fair, be humble in victory, and gracious in defeat.
Communicate respectfully: Use appropriate language and tone in all interactions.
Be inclusive: Welcome new players and ensure everyone feels like a part of the community.
Prioritize safety: Play in a way that minimizes risk of injury to yourself and others.
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated within Riverdale Sandlot:
Bullying: Any aggressive behavior intended to hurt, intimidate, or coerce another person, whether physical, verbal, or emotional. This includes, but is not limited to, taunting, ridiculing, or excluding individuals.
Sexual Harassment: Any unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature. This includes, but is not limited to, inappropriate comments, jokes, gestures, or touching.
Physical Violence: Any act of aggression intended to cause physical harm, including hitting, pushing, shoving, or fighting.
Verbal Abuse: Using offensive language, threats, insults, or any form of hate speech directed at individuals or groups based on their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.
Discrimination: Any unfair or prejudicial treatment of individuals based on their background or characteristics.
Intimidation: Behavior that creates fear or apprehension in others.
Riverdale Sandlot has a zero-tolerance policy for any behavior or language that makes another individual feel unsafe, unwelcome, or excluded from our league.
Any participant found to be engaging in bullying, sexual harassment, physical violence, verbal abuse, discrimination, or intimidation, or any other conduct deemed to create an unsafe, unwelcoming, or non-inclusive environment, will be permanently banned from Riverdale Sandlot.
This decision will be made at the sole discretion of the league organizer and will be final. By participating in Riverdale Sandlot, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
If you believe you are a victim of or have witnessed any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please notify the league commissioner while still at the field, if possible. You should also send a detailed report via email to info@riverdalesandlot.com. All reports will be handled with discretion and investigated promptly. Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
We believe that by upholding these standards, we can continue to foster a fun, positive, and safe atmosphere for everyone involved in Riverdale Sandlot.
